Naomi Chen is the Founder and Managing Director of Global Care. A registered nurse by professional, with over 21 years of experience, trained in both the United Kingdom and Singapore in the acute and long-term care sectors. Her latest position in the Intermediate and Long-Term Care sector in Singapore was as a Senior Nurse Manager, having the experience of planning and setting new Nursing Homes and seeing them through stringent Pre-Licensing audits with the Ministry of Health.

With an innate passion to address the needs and challenges of the eldercare sector, Naomi believes that Global Care will be the pioneer in the recruitment and placement of healthcare talents who deeply understands and believes in person-directed and family-centred care. Her personal vision statement is, “Every person can achieve a life worth living”, especially so for the elderly.

With her adept experience caring for the aged, persons living with dementia and interacting with healthcare staff, she believes that holistic care is the only way to go in this new era of care and well-being. Her capabilities are mainly in care management, creative thinking and operationalising person-directed and person-centred care. Naomi enjoys imparting her clinical skills and knowledge to student nurses and healthcare professionals, namely the Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Nursing Aides and Healthcare Assistants, consistently encouraging them to analyse, think critically and out-of-the-box to “marry” personhood and clinical care together for a holistic and humane approach to the vulnerable and sick. She has conducted trainings in Wound Care, Pressure Injury and Dementia aside from mentoring and competencising her Nurses and staff.

As a result of her vast experience in the aged and community care, she has been invited to participate in several sector discussions. Naomi is regularly invited to contribute in various committees, taskforces and focus groups at a national level, where she continues to make an impact on the quality of nursing care. These include the focus group to validate ‘Skills Standards Framework for Support Care Staff’ with the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), a discussion for the ‘Development of Community Nursing Competency Framework (CNCF)’ with the Ministry of Health (MOH), and also participating in the work group under MOH to revise the 2nd edition of ‘The National Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines for Long-Term Care Facilities (LTCFs)’.

Professionally, Naomi attends in-service, workshops and conferences both locally and overseas so as to stay updated on current trends and bring about increased competence in caring for the elders.

With a strong leadership management of over 100 healthcare staff, Naomi believes that each staff has their own story to tell. It could be a daunting task to move to a foreign land to work, and with the lack of a transparent, trusted support system, our talents could potentially feel lost, and sometimes abused. Global Care seeks to be the support system that handholds you on every step of your recruitment journey, without the stress. She assures that the hand-holding however does not end at the end when talents are handed over to their employers but continues thereafter, as support and assurance are crucial to talents, whether you are local or foreign.
